The Bells Gallery is excited to exhibit a collection of works by artist Nicole Hemmerly. Eutierria is a solo exhibition on view at Bells Gallery on March 7 – April 12, 2025. The body of work is inspired by the artist’s connection to the earth and how that connection manifests within her textile practice. Hemmerly’s beautiful color palette and textile movements embody Eutierria, a positive feeling of oneness with the earth and its life forces where the boundaries between self and the rest are obliterated, and a deep sense of peace and connectedness pervades consciousness.

“We all have places and people that shape the person we become, places and people that are the first things that pop into our minds when we think of childhood and how we grew into who we are. For me, that place is the family farm in my native northern Pennsylvania, and that person is my father, a kind-hearted hunter and fisherman with a deep love of nature. His love of the outdoors shaped and fostered my own, and that dedication to respecting and bettering the earth instilled the values that Mosshound Designs was founded upon.”

Nicole Hemmerly is a textile artist from Northern Pennsylvania, now based in the Santa Rosa Beach, Florida, area. She is the owner and artist of Mosshound Designs. Nicole’s husband introduced her to his family’s sheep farm, inspiring her to dive deep into her love of textiles. She has gathered her wool from the farm since that introduction. Nicole studied the history of fiber arts, its historic applications, and modern techniques.
