The Bells Gallery is excited to present a solo exhibition of works by artist Jaclayvious Emmanuel. Ducks Drink Water will be on view from May 2 to 31, 2025. The exhibition will share painted two-dimensional works and sculptures.

“I just make art, I study, I study everyone and everything I find interesting. I never stop reading, I never stop learning and I never stop making art. It doesn’t matter what I make, as long as I’m doing the work, as long as I’m making something. I just mush up everything I’ve learned with everything that’s in my head. VIl create art out of anything, anything I can get my hands on, it could be oils…it could be oatmeal. I don’t have a process.

There is no science behind it. It’s about figuring out how to take my thoughts, beliefs and inner self and turning it into figures–strip away the unnecessary. I leave the meaning to the viewer in hopes that they can find any answer to their internal questions and maybe even a meaning to their life.“

Jaclayvious Emmanuel is a self-taught, Neo Expressionist, mixed media artist. A Columbus, Georgia. native and a skateboarder, Jaclayvious embraced skate culture with numerous graffiti works in Detroit and throughout the United States. His travels have taken him to Japan, New York, Oregon, and Seattle, Washington among many other places. An avid learner, he taught himself how to speak Japanese and marries Japanese culture with his own experiences and traditions to inspire his works.
