‭Thoughts:‬‭ Resilience, Transformation, Craft of Power, Reclaiming Narrative. Chief Tootie Montana embodied‬ ‭all of these. He transformed the battles into craft and dance, replacing violence with craft, color, and‬ ‭movement. These costumes hold a heritage for founding nations alike. This work, and most of the works in‬ this series, is about taking the narrative through creation rather than destruction.‬
